Benefits of our 3.0T Magnet

This powerful 3.0T technology helps physicians to make more confident diagnoses for their patients by delivering outstanding images of body, breast, musculoskeletal, neurological, vascular, and cardiac systems and pediatric structures. Of particular value is the fact that MRI, unlike CT scanning, does not use ionizing radiation.

Almost any part of the body can be evaluated. Any tumor, infection, or structural abnormality of the liver, pancreas, gall bladder ducts, and pelvis structures are easily assessed in great detail. A complete exam of any of those areas can be accomplished in less than a half hour.

The 3.0T also offers substantial benefits for patients at FirstMRI including increased comfort, reduced exam times, and less need for rescanning due to patient movement.

Specialized diagnoses and treatments

3.0T provides much greater sensitivity to fine detail than earlier technology, offering significant diagnostic advantages for many orthopedic, neurological, and breast imaging applications, as well as providing exquisite detail on the small anatomy of children.

Breast Imaging

For women at high risk for breast cancer, the sensitivity to fine detail and superb image clarity offered by the 3.0T magnet permits earlier diagnosis of the disease.

Cardiac

3.0T images of the heart are highly effective in assessingejection fraction, cardiac tumors, vessel dissection, andgeneral cardiac anatomy.

Musculoskeletal

3.0T scans offer superb imaging to painlessly assess andidentify soft tissue abnormalities in the joints, such as tears in the shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles.

Neurology

Sensitivity to fine detail detects very small lesions, allowing medical professionals to find up to twice as many lesions. This permits earlier diagnosis and more effective treatment of diseases such as multiple sclerosis.

Orthopedics

For certain orthopedic applications, it is possible to see cartilage and ligaments better with 3.0T in cases of joint injury or arthritis. These superior images are critical when a surgeon needs precise measurement of the cartilage.

Pediatrics

Delivering exquisite detail on the small anatomy, along with speed and comfort, the 3.0T is the preferred imaging technology for children. FirstMRI scans all areas of the body and all pediatric ages from newborns to adolescents.

Vascular

3.0T imaging of the vessels in nearly any part of the body can detect vascular occlusion or vessel abnormality without contrast media which is of great benefit for patients who cannot tolerate contrast media.
