The history of FirstMRI begins with a vision that preceded the sophisticated technology, consummate professionalism and welcoming facilities that are now the hallmark of the first MRI operation to be established north of Boston. FirstMRI exists today because of the vision, ambition and leadership of Dr. Francis Kittredge who, along with Dr. George Wright, founded the organization as MRI Associates in 1985.
Dr. Kittredge, Bangor's very first neurologist, arrived in Bangor in 1972. Two years later, he introduced the state's first CAT scanner to Bangor and, in 1985, brought the first MRI equipment to Maine.
Proud of all that it has achieved first, FirstMRI is equally proud of all the things it does best.
